COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINIC SUPPORT

The First Baptist Church of Glenarden in partnership with the University of Maryland Capital Region Health will offer a COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic beginning in mid-March. 

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist at the vaccination clinic. Volunteers must be available on weekdays, Monday – Friday, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.

We are asking all volunteers, both medical and nonmedical, for a minimum one-month commitment.

There are two types of volunteers needed for the clinic, volunteer vaccinators and support volunteers.

Volunteer Vaccinators

We are looking for medical professionals to serve as vaccinators. To serve as a volunteer vaccinator, you must be a licensed practical nurse, registered nurse, advanced practice practitioner, medical assistant, pharmacist, pharmacy technician, EMT, dentist or physician. You must be licensed in the State of Maryland to serve as a vaccinator.

Nonmedical Volunteers

In addition to medical volunteers, we’re also looking for nonmedical volunteers to assist at the vaccination clinic. We have numerous volunteer roles available. To learn more about the roles, please read the descriptions listed below.

Greeters Greeters will welcome guests as they arrive at the clinic.

Navigators – Navigators will escort people to and from various locations within the clinic. Please be prepared to stand for periods of time.

Pre-Check-In Pre-check-in volunteers will assist with validating appointments and passing out forms to those coming to the clinic.

Observers – Observers will watch those who just received their vaccine in a separate observation area for at least 15 minutes.

Registration Registration volunteers will help with the intake process and collect/verify contact information. Computer skills are required for this role.

Traffic and Safety Traffic and Safety volunteers will assist with directing traffic and providing directions to those arriving at the clinic. Please be prepared to stand outside for periods of time, including during potential inclement weather.
